Paul J. Gallagher Jr. is the Founder and active President and CEO of Genesis In-Home Care. Mr. Gallagher founded Genesis in 2012. Prior to Genesis, Mr. Gallagher worked for five years as a direct care worker and home manager with other agencies. During that time Mr. Gallagher gained valuable experience with serving a myriad of different folks all ranging with different needs and disabilities.
As President and CEO, Mr. Gallagher provides strategic leadership for the company by working with the Board and other management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. In addition, Mr. Gallagher manages the overall operations and resources of the company. One major duty is focusing on intertwining the culture of gentleness to the philosophy of Genesis so it becomes who we are.
Mr. Gallagher is honored to have been a presenter at multiple conferences sharing the philosophy of care to many audiences. Conferences include, the Michigan Culture of Gentleness conferences, Gentle Teaching International conferences and Raising the Bar. He was also a guest speaker for a recent business series at Eastern Michigan University.
Mr. Gallagher has an associate’s degree in Applied Science with the focus in Mental Health/Social work. Also, Mr. Gallagher attends many leadership and development classes to enhance his skills and to pass on to folks within the organization. He is an active member of the Partnership of Fair Caregiver Wages that advocates in Lansing for mental health funding and higher wages for support staff in the industry. In addition, he serves on numerous committees focused on bettering the future for the industry.
In 2014 Mr. Gallagher was honored as the Provider of the Year by the ARC of Oakland County. In 2018, Mr. Gallagher was honored by the Small Business Association of Michigan as the Young Entrepreneur of the Year. He was also recognized by Crain’s Detroit as one of the 2018 Twenty in their Twenties.
Mr. Gallagher is married and has three kids, two boys and one girl. He spends much time working out, reading, sports, outside activities and spending time with family and friends.
